Blakelow Bank offers accommodation on a medium to long-term basis for one young person at any time, may this be male or female, whom are unable to live at home for a variety of reasons. We care for very challenging young people who have emotional, social and behavioural difficulties as a result of past emotional/ physical trauma, who may display moderate learning difficulties, who may have a history of self-harm, sexual exploitation, absconding, and antisocial or persistent offending behaviour that may present with drug and alcohol issues. Blakelow Bank can offer a home to children ranging from 9-17 years old at the time of arrival, however, should the needs of a young person dictate a need for extension of placement after the age of eighteen and providing the needs of the other young people are not compromised in any way then this may be a possibility.
The staff team in Blakelow work very closely and are motivated, enthusiastic and determined in providing our young people with the best care and life chances that we can. The team excels in MFC and independent living and provide a nurturing family environment. We encourage and promote our young person’s views and wishes and fully incorporate these into the daily running of the home.
The home is set in a beautiful location surrounded by fields and animals and has stunning views which provides a calm and therapeutic environment. We have great working partnerships with all the professionals and families that we work with and feedback received is positive.
