Our Home
Blakelow Bank is set in the semi-rural location of Macclesfield, East Cheshire, situated at the top of a hill. This offers wonderful aerial views overlooking the town of Macclesfield, which we believe brings a calming effect to the home -and the young person who is in placement here- and is one of the best qualities we offer as a home.
Blakelow Bank is a true home and offers lots of different activities, either in the town center, such as cinemas, shopping, football or laser quest, or you can enjoy some therapeutic time in the Cheshire countryside, as we are on the doorstep of the Peak District.
Blakelow Team
The team at Blakelow offers our young person the chance to build positive relationships and work towards their individual goals. Blakelow Bank have significant experience in getting our young people to engage in education, building up social interaction and promoting positive transitions to other homes.
The staff team have experience of working with young people at risk of missing from care, criminal exploitation, and ADHD, so we cover a wide spectrum.
The home has promoted positive outcomes for children who have been in placement here, and we have worked closely with young people to make sure they feel safe, secure and see this as their home.
Feedback from social workers who place young people at Blakelow Bank has been positive, and comments include “my young person has progressed so much” and “my young person is happy”.
Authorities place young people at Blakelow Bank who are in need of time to develop or progress. In the last couple of years, we have had young people who have struggled to live with peers and our solo setting has brought out the best in them, and also in young people who are planning to transition home.
